Infrared's haze-cutting abilities are evident here compared with the color version, as well as with the respective Vesuvius depictions (pages 1,3). Infrared film was often used for aerial city/street maps because of its clarity characteristic. I miss Kodak HIE and that ethereal halation that's lost in the digital realm. Digital is so much easier, of course, but in my experience, less rewarding.
